Rating: - This sandwich is a keeper! We over-cooked it a little, but it was so flavorful... and that's saying a lot coming from me. There haven't been too many turkey burgers that I have been able to say that about. I loved the bits of celery and cranberries in every bite.
Recipe:
Better Homes and Garden Cookbook
1 Tbsp mustard
1 Tbsp cherry, apricot, peach or pineapple preserves {I used apricot}
1 beaten egg
1/4 c. quick-cooking rolled oats
1/4 c. finely chopped celery
3 Tbsp chopped dried cherries or dried apricots {I used dried cranberries}
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 lb. ground turkey or chicken
4 buns, toasted
Glaze - stir together prepared mustard and preserves; set aside
In med. bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Shape turkey mixture into four 1/4-inch thick patties.
Preheat grill. Reduce heat to medium. Place burger on heat and cover. Grill for 14 to 18 minutes, turning once halfway through grilling. Brush with glaze during the last minute.
Serve on toasted buns. Brush any remaining glaze over burgers.
